Village of Lombard to Celebrate Arbor Day With Memorial Tree Planting in Honor of the Late Bill Mueller

The Arbor Day celebration will begin at 1 p.m. on the Village Hall complex near the Public Works building. A lilac tree, specifically the Ivory Silk, will be planted on the south side of the pond along Holloman Drive. The tree is being donated by Wilson Nurseries in Hampshire, where the Village has been purchasing trees since 1989.

The Mueller family will be present at the Arbor Day celebration as well as students from St. Pius X School, which was Bill Mueller's parish.

Each Arbor Day, a tree is planted somewhere in the Village to commemorate and celebrate trees in our community. “Mr. Mueller always loved seeing the students at this annual tree planting,” said Steve Kremske, Forestry/Landscape Supervisor in Lombard's Public Works Department.

The community is invited to attend the Arbor Day celebration. For more information, please call (630) 620-5718.
