Richard Dunne for Elgin City Council

I have known and respected Richard Dunne for about 20 years and, in that time, I've come to know the man behind the man. Rich is running for re-election to the Elgin City Council and in his current term, he has demonstrated superior ability to perform the duties of his office while representing the overall interests of his constituency.

Rich served the City of Elgin for many years with the Fire Department in the capacities of firefighter, paramedic, Fire Marshal and finally, retired at the rank of lieutenant. During this time, he also served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve as an air evacuation medical specialist aboard C-130 aircraft, bringing the wounded back from the Middle East. He retired from the Reserves at the highest enlisted rank of Chief Master Sergeant.

Rich then joined the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and was deployed to the disaster scene on the East coast in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, individually helping the victims with food, shelter and other necessities.

Rich and his dear wife, Judy, have raised three beautiful, intelligent daughters here in Elgin, the eldest of which is now a registered nurse. Somewhere in his schedule, he found the time to achieve his Bachelor's Degree attending night school and is now completing his Masters. He is obviously a man who can juggle many tasks and responsibilities while giving each the attention it deserves and sees them through to a successful completion.

Richard Dunne has my full personal endorsement and support in his bid to remain on the Council and continue to serve the City of Elgin and its citizens in the same exemplary manner he has served and continues to serve his country.

These are my personal thoughts and statements of facts and do not necessarily represent the views or policy of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
