8,000 Easter Eggstravaganza!

A chilly, yet sunny day brought over five hundred participants to the annual Des Plaines Park District's free Easter Egg Hunts on March 30 at Prairie Lakes Park. Over 8,000 toy and treat filled eggs were spread out on the soccer fields. The hunt began promptly at 10:00am for the two and three year olds, and was followed by four additional age divisions, including a special hunt for teens and adults. “The Annual Easter Egg Hunt has become a favorite of Des Plaines residents and their children for several years now,” said Jennifer Boys, Assistant Superintendent of Recreation. “Everyone, young and old and in between enjoy watching the children search for the eggs. It is a wonderful family day for our community.”

After filling their baskets, children stopped to visit with the Easter bunny and have their picture taken. For more information about Spring events at the Des Plaines Park District, visit www.DPParks.org.
