Spending decisions show lack of leadership

The sequester has passed and the president has warned us about the thousands of teachers who will be let go, the long delays at the airports, the loss of government jobs, and on and on. Why didn’t he know this when he signed for the sequester 16 months ago?

The Daily Herald’s Associated Press article of March 4 says that Secretary of State John Kerry just released $250 million of aid to Egypt. This is the first part of the $1 billion in aid promised by President Obama. Recently we also saw millions go to the aid of Syria.

My questions to President Obama is why did you let this happen? How can we let thousands of Americans be fired, allow contracts to be reduced, and in general hurt the American economy while at the same time giving billions in aid around the world?

Also earlier this month, Janet Napolitano announced the release of thousands of illegal immigrants due to budget cuts. How disgusting the smell of politics when so many Americans are truly hurting. Mr. President, when are you going to start leading?
