Skokie's Kristie Allenby wins Soroptimist financial grant

Soroptimist International of Suburban Chicago is proud to announce the winner of this year's Women's Opportunity Award is Kristie Allenby of Skokie, IL.

Kristie is attending Eastern Illinois University studying special education for early childehood. She has over come many challenges in her life including the death of her mother at age 14. Still her mother's emphasis on education stayed with her and eventhough she is the primary financial provider of he disabled boyfriend and their two children, she manaages to work 26 hours a week and go to school full time.

Kristie will be awarded her grant money of not less than $500.00 at the club's annual awards luncheon in May.
