Harper College President Imparts Leadership Lessons
Harper College President Dr. Kenneth Ender shared his journey to leadership with students in an informal campus discussion this month, taking their questions and offering advice for becoming better leaders in college and beyond. Ender, who took over as Harper's president in 2009, credited his own college experience with giving him the confidence to take on more responsibility, and said a willingness to take risks without fear of failure is a necessary attribute for success. The discussion was part of Harper's first-ever Student Leadership Week – five days of events designed to help students further develop their own skills as leaders. “We believe that leadership is for everyone,” Student Activity Coordinator Chris George said. “Anyone can become a leader, and providing students with the right models of leadership will hopefully set them on that path.”
