Dan O'Leary Named Tim and Thom McNamee "Man of the Year"
Last Thursday, March 7th, Dan O'Leary was awarded the first ever Tim and Thomas McNamee Man of the Year Award for his tireless service to his community. The Tim and Thom McNamee Man of the Year Award is in memory of the twins' tireless efforts to their community. Dan was selected for his involvement with the Boys Scouts, the Lions Club, and several other organizations. He is an Eagle Scout, Den Leader to Cub Pack 36, Advisor for the Order of the Arrow, Pack trainer and fundraiser for the Three Fires Council. He was an East Dundee Village Trustee and President. As a member and Treasurer of the Lions' Club, he earned Lion of the Year in 2011 and the Scouting Service Award this year. Dan has helped with FISH Food Pantry and has annually participated in the annual Fox River and Bike Trail cleanup. He is an accomplished bag piper and has lent his services to numerous services and ceremonies.
Dan graciously accepted this Award, along with a shillelagh walking stick, and will be honored as the Grand Marshall for the Thomas McNamee Memorial St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 16th. Dan will lead the parade, marching in an Irish national tartan kilt, and will present the trophies to the winners at the end of the parade.
