OSHA investigating accident in Elk Grove

The Occupational Health & Safety Administration has opened an investigation of a workplace accident at Material Sciences Corp., 2200 Pratt Blvd. in Elk Grove Village, in which a worker became entrapped in a machine at about 5 p.m. Thursday. Elk Grove Village firefighters reported that the man was extricated from the machine and transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. No further information was immediately available from firefighters or OSHA, and the OSHA investigation is expected to take several months, spokesman Scott Allen said.
