Elgin Downtown Madness returns

The Downtown Neighborhood Association of Elgin’s third annual edition of Downtown Madness returns this month as signature dishes from Elgin-area eateries and pubs face off against one other in a March Madness-style bracket tournament where the public chooses the winners round by round until a champion is crowned.

There will be 32 teams competing — 16 downtown Elgin eateries and 16 crosstown Elgin eateries. Online voting is March 14 through April 8.

People can also get Elgin Eat 16 punch cards and get punches for trying the various “signature dishes” for a chance to earn prizes such as gift certificates and T-shirts.
