Roadway to Chicago business development reopened

Gov. Pat Quinn visited Chicago’s South Side where a roadway to a business development was reopened.

Quinn attended the event Monday at Pullman Park. The road project was paid for with $4.6 million in federal disaster recovery money. The roadway deteriorated after flooding in 2008. Quinn’s office says the project created 300 construction jobs.

The road accesses a soon-to-be retail area. The area is under development and will include a Walmart, along with other retail stores. Quinn’s office says 400 construction job and 1,000 retail jobs are expected to be created when the Pullman Park development is completed.
