This would offer the opportunity to become informed without attending the regular board meetings.Questions Answers What is your position on what needs to be done to jump-start downtown redevelopment and how soon does this need to get happen?We should identify which buildings can be occupied and seek to fill those buildings with businesses to jump-start interest in downtown. It is important to not continue to spend community money on unrealistic development plans.What are your views on any kind of financial incentives to attract future development? Do you have any concerns about offering breaks in the wake of those recently received by the developer of Mariano?s?Decisions will need to be made on an individual basis based on what is best for the community. If a business, like Mariano's, wants to do business in Lake Zurich the arrangement must be mutually beneficial.In these tight economic times, municipal budgets have to be prioritized. Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed? Conversely, is there something that should be reinstated or have resources directed toward?One area that I feel we could spend less in our municipal budget is in consultants and drawings of unrealistic downtown development. An area that could use more attention is neighborhood infrastructure.What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Work to put back School District funds lost to the TIF district, to enable our schools to continue our fine arts programs and possibly reinstate the activity bus and other programs that enrich our children's lives.Talking with your friends and neighbors, what seems to be their biggest public safety concern? Explain the concern as you see it, and discuss how you think it should be addressed.The increased juvenile delinquency such as littering, graffiti, and stealing from unlocked cars. If we offer alternatives to the children when they are otherwise unsupervised we could improve adolescent behavior.
