If yes, please explain: Yes Arrested for DUI, subsequently cleared after passing a breathalyzer test.Candidate's Key Issues Key Issue 1 The current Mayor and Trustees have performed in exemplary fashion. I truly believe their efforts put forth have been in the best interest of the Village of Carol Stream. As it should be. Safety of our staff and resident is our number one concern. Maintaining safe conditions benefits all of us.Key Issue 2 Compliance with all rule and regulations at the state and federal level. We need to be instrumental with the development of all potential new regulations as they may have an impact on our financial stability.Key Issue 3 Currently our Village is financially stable. Our desire is to maintain that stability. In these most difficult economic times there is the need to evaluate every aspect of our revenues and expenditures. Our resident have felt the economic squeeze starting with the lost value of our homes and the little to no reduction in our property tax. Jump starting our economy in our home community is a great start.Questions Answers As a village board member, what steps will you recommend the village take to attract more business to town?Maintaining our current business base is our first priority. If available to do so provide tax incentives to encourage new businesses to our community. Work with the Chamber of Commerce on programs and events to develop and welcome appropriate new business to our community.Should Carol Stream have a village property tax? Why?At this time I don't believe it is necessary. Our efforts for the future should attempt to maintain our current status however at some point a Carol Stream property tax may be necessary.What steps would you recommend the village take to combat flooding?Flooding will continue be an ongoing concern for all municipalities. Having experienced floods personally reinforces my desire to investigate all possible solutions to aid in the reduction of such personal trauma. Working closely with our neighboring communities as well as the county is essential in minimizing this problem.Talking with your friends and neighbors, what seems to be their biggest public safety concern? Explain the concern as you see it, and discuss how you think it should be addressed.The safety of our children tops my list. Being involved with a neighborhood watch program will help provide for the safety of our kids. Children are our most precious commodity, we need to be pro-active with regards to their safety.What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Community involvement. We are all in this together, we all have a voice and opinions. We need to let them be heard. With 37 years in public service, I couldn't have chosen a more rewarding career than providing assistance to people in need. Thank you for your time.
