I am responsible for voicemail world wide for 98% of the phone companies.Given the delicate balance between the need for revenue and over-taxing local businesses, what is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.Since I was first elected the vilage was two million dollars in the red. Today we are in the black and have some reserve funds. This was done by reducing costs and monitoring expenditures.Talking with your friends and neighbors, what seems to be their biggest public safety concern? Explain the concern as you see it, and discuss how you think it should be addressed.I beleive the biggest safety concern is making sure our seniors are taken care of. There is always someone out to try an scam them. The key to helping our seniors is education. Keeping them updated on any local scams that we are made aware of.In these tight economic times, municipal budgets have to be prioritized. Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?The mayor and the current board of trustee's have done a great job balancing the bugdet. There is no place to to reduce our headcount any more. Since the board has developed a five year strategic plan I believe we are in very good shape financially.What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?I would like to see Wifi put in underground. When the streets are repaired we need to look down the road at the needs and try to put some infrastructure in as we go.
