If yes, please explain: NOCandidate's Key Issues Key Issue 1 Make certain the residents of Lake Barrington are being represented and that we not only listen to their concerns but act on them. We want them to come to our board meetings and let us know how we can be of service to them.--THAT IS WHY WE WERE ELECTED BY THEM.Key Issue 2 Work with the Business Park owners to address their issues, make certain that we do everything possible to encourage their success and continue to develop new businesses so we do not have any vacancies or failed businesses. We are very interested in bringing new resident- friendly uses to the Park to compliment those that already are occupied.Key Issue 3 Continue to work on the Frier Farm project so when the first stage is completed we can be proud that our open space fund has be used properly and that the residents are pleased with our efforts.Questions Answers What makes you the best candidate for the job?I bring a history and a wealth of knowledge that comes with the amount of time I have been involved. After sharing my experiences it is great to get their prospective and combine the results to better serve the residents.Given the delicate balance between the need for revenue and over-taxing local businesses, what is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.I feel that our taxes are very much in line and since our village has the Lake Barrington Business Park we are fortunate to keep our taxes as low as possible. I give a great deal of credit to out Village Administrator and staff who work so well at keeping expences in check.Talking with your friends and neighbors, what seems to be their biggest public safety concern? Explain the concern as you see it, and discuss how you think it should be addressed. We have two distinct areas, one being our gated communities (mostly LBS) and then the rest of the village. LBS is patrolled by a private security company (paid for by the resident's assessments) snd the rest of the community is patrolled by Lake County Sheriff's department.Speeding on our roads is a major concern. There are enough laws on the books( i.e. national, state and local) that if people followed them it would be a much safer place . Some people feel tha laws are for others and as long as they keep that attitude of stupidity we have little effect. As Forrest Gump apply put it "Stupid is as stupid does and you can't fix stupid"In these tight economic times, municipal budgets have to be prioritized. Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?I feel that the elected officials of L.B. are doing a remarkable job of holding the line on spending and yet giving the residents the value of services. What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?We-the President and trustees- work so well as a unit that I don't think any thing has gotten by us and I would not want to take credit for what we have done collectively.
