Deborah was General Operations Manager for the team based here and instrumental in this team's success. Deborah is a very professional and dedicated Operations Manager - often working to extremely tight deadlines and frequently delivering in excess of expectations. Lorna Pace, Business Development Executive, The North of England Inward Investment Agency worked directly with Deborah at The North of EnglandGiven the delicate balance between the need for revenue and over-taxing local businesses, what is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.I believe local sales tax is in line for the area we are in.Talking with your friends and neighbors, what seems to be their biggest public safety concern? Explain the concern as you see it, and discuss how you think it should be addressed. The majority of neighbors and friends in the Hampshire area have expressed only 1 concern to me and that is speed limits in certain areas. I feel that the Board reviews this concern on a regular basis and that those concerned should participate in the Board meetings to vocalize them.In these tight economic times, municipal budgets have to be prioritized. Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?Having made my decision to run as a candidate recently I have not yet had the time to review the budget. However my past experience of managing budgets will certainly be utilized well if elected. I managed a government budget for many years and consistently came in on budget every year. There were many occasions when I was responsible for reducing costs while maintaining the integrity of our business and did so very efficiently and cost effectively. What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?I would like to see the Village perhaps in conjunction with the Chamber work to promote the small businesses within the community. During these trying economic times it could be a daunting task and this has been evident in those that have not been able to make it here.
