Does it return to citizens enough of a return to make up for the expenses?Questions Answers What makes you the best candidate for the job?I have traveled around the world and seen the positive effects of democracy and citizen involvement. I have experience working in the private sector, the military, and government. My experience brings strategic thinking and tactical action which will bring tremendous benefit to the the village. I understand the value and power of local government with its immediate and positive (or negative) effect on a citizens life. All of my experience has taught the lessons of teamwork, citizenship, and patriotism and their impact on the community.Given the delicate balance between the need for revenue and over-taxing local businesses, what is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.It is my opinion that sales taxes are just right given our neighbors equivalent levels.Talking with your friends and neighbors, what seems to be their biggest public safety concern? Explain the concern as you see it, and discuss how you think it should be addressed.The callousness of some in law enforcement. There is a need to return to community policing values to gain trust and results.In these tight economic times, municipal budgets have to be prioritized. Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?There seems to be an exorbitant level given to the police department. Given the loss of Hainesville as part of their patrol and the loss of 600 acres due to de-annexing - one would have thought there would have been a comparable reduction in the police budget. I would also examine why there have been changes in the treasurer so often in recent times.What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Community meetings, such as coffee with the board/Mayor. Providing a casual forum for the residents to discuss issues of importance to them.
