Neighborhood group to host city council candidate forum

The Blackhawk Residents Association of Elgin is sponsoring a Elgin City Council candidate forum from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 16 at New Covenant Fellowship, 865 Parkway, Elgin.

They will be taking questions from people as they come to the forum as well as questions received from the members of the association and asking them of the candidates during the forum.

Candidates will get a few minutes to reply. There will be a time after the forum for candidates and voters to have refreshments and meet the candidates.

"This is the first forum sponsored by the Association as they want to show how much they are interested in Elgin and who is being elected to the Council," says board member Bill Neylon. "We have always taken a interest in Elgin and we want the voters and residents of Elgin to have the most information to make the best informative decisions on how to take this city forward. "
