ISU says it has suspect in custody after lockdown

Illinois State University police say they have a suspect in custody after an earlier lockdown. Illinois State University police had alerted students and the public to a man with a gun seen on the campus in Normal.

The alert was posted at 3:25 p.m.

“Person with weapon last seen near Watterson Towers. Be alert, do NOT approach, and seek shelter,” the alert states.

“All residence halls and dining centers are restricted to only current residents,” the university added at 3:42 p.m.

University High School and Metcalf School, both ISU lab schools, are on lockdown, according to the Bloomington Pantagraph.
