Sacred Heart of Mary Alumnae Mass Sunday Feb. 10
Saint Viator Chapel to host gathering 10 a.m. Sunday
Submitted by St. Viator High School
The graduates of Sacred Heart of Mary High School are invited to participate in a special Mass in their honor 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10. The Mass will take place in the chapel at St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights. To date, nearly 30 graduates of the former all-girls Catholic high school that closed in 1987, have indicated that they will participate in the Mass that will be presided over by the Rev. James E. Michaletz, C.S.V.
Sacred Heart began serving students in September of 1961, with the students actually attending classes at St. Viator, but in separate areas. The girls moved to their own building in Rolling Meadows in the fall of 1963. The two schools served as partner facilities for girls and boys for over two decades before Sacred Heart closed and Saint Viator became a coed institution at the start of the 1987-88 school year.
A group of Sacred Heart graduates have been preparing this weekend’s event, which will include a reception following the Mass. All are welcome to attend.
