Bulls’ Hinrich misses game for elbow exam
Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich returned to Chicago to have his right elbow examined. He missed the game in Brooklyn on Friday night and his status will be determined when the exam is complete.
Including Friday, Hinrich had missed six games with an assortment of injuries this season and the Bulls have gone 2-4 in the games he’s missed. There was no indication of any sort of serious concern with the elbow in recent days.
Nate Robinson started in Hinrich’s place. and rookie Marquis Teague returned to the rotation. Teague played well at times this season but hadn’t gotten significant minutes since the Dec. 31 loss to Charlotte.
One silver lining if Hinrich misses a significant amount of time is the Bulls should be only a few weeks away from the return of Derrick Rose from ACL surgery.
After losing to the Nets, the Bulls are 11-3 on the road in the Eastern Conference. They ended a streak of 14 straight Friday road wins, an NBA record according to Elias Sports Bureau.
