Trivia competition comes to Dist. 62 Foundation benefit

Trivia Competition fans should buy tickets now for the annual District 62 Foundation dinner benefit, which is scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m., Friday, Feb. 22.

Teams of eight-10 people will compete in rounds of questions in a variety of categories for the trivia competition. Each team works together and submits their answers on their trivia question form. No one has to answer aloud! During each round the judges score the answer sheets and a leading team is proclaimed. This continues until the end of the final round when the Trivia Champs are proclaimed.

The evening begins at 6 p.m., with a reception, silent auction, exciting raffles and a cash bar. Dinner is served at 7 p.m., which is a full course meal prepared by skilled chefs and served by professional waiters. Guests will have a choice of one of the following entrees: chicken piccata, orange roughy or spinach and feta encroute.

The Trivia Competition kicks off at 8:30 p.m. The silent auction closes at the stroke of 9:30 p.m.

The cost to attend is $50, which includes a choice of entree and the entertainment. Tables of 10 are available for $450. Café la Cave also offers free valet parking.

Proceeds from the Reach to Teach Benefit sustains the Foundation's mini-grant program, which expands and extends classroom and learning activities for students. During the 2012-13 school year, the Foundation donated $21,000 that funded 28 grants across the district. The Foundation would like to fund more.

Funds raised during the evening are used to fulfill grants submitted by School District 62 teachers and staff. Grant proposals are reviewed and scored by an independent team of educators then funded with Foundation dollars by highest to lowest score. Every grant enhances and helps to ensure that the students in School District 62 receive a quality education. Please visit www.d62.org/d62foundation/index.html to learn more about the Foundation and past or current grants.

School District 62 educates a diverse population of children and taxes alone cannot cover the extras that complete an excellent education. Ÿ Science and living history displays

Ÿ Multilingual reading materials

Ÿ Multilingual music inclusion programs

Ÿ Digital cameras for school newspapers
