Elgin’s St. Mary school open house Jan. 27

St. Mary Catholic School will hold an open house for preschool to eighth grade from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27 at the school, 103 S. Gifford St. in Elgin.

St. Mary’s welcomes all current and potential new families to the open house. St. Mary School provides an exceptional, Catholic education for all our students.

Not only are the core subjects taught, but religion is taught daily as well as within all subject areas. They have adopted the SuperKids program in kindergarten this year and will expand it to both preschool and first grade next year. They are completing the new computer lab which will be open for the open house.

This lab will allow all students to work with current technology, preparing them for their futures. Next year, they will be adopting a schoolwide math program to enhance the math program and increase the academic excellence they strive to provide.

In addition, they will be offering a preschool program next year. They will have both a 3-year-old and 4-year-old half-day program.
