New hospital would be a waste

Vista has proposed that a certificate of need be awarded for another hospital in Lake County.

This is overkill in an area already saturated with health care providers.

Patient care is leaning toward outpatient services and home health care. Speaking for veteran nurses in today’s economy, we have been hit hard by the reduction of patient care hours already and contrary to the perception of many, health care workers have had layoffs and reduced income just like many other professions.

Approving this facility is not in the best interest of the community and constitutes a waste of money and resources.
