Rose wins law enforcement award:
The Illinois Association of Law Enforcement Executives announced Thursday that Mundelein Police Chief Ray Rose has been selected as the 2012 Illinois Law Enforcement Executive of the Year. Rose, who is set to retire at the end of January, was the unanimous selection of the IALEE executive board. The award will be presented at the Jan. 14 Mundelein Village Board meeting. It is given to individuals who are considered innovative and progressive leaders and who have a demonstrated track record of serving with insight, fairness and competence within the law enforcement profession. Recipients should also have a history of assuming leadership roles in professional organizations and a background in law enforcement training and education. IALEE President Chief Daniel McCollum of LaGrange Park said Rose was well deserving. This is the third year the award has been presented. Previous recipients include Chief Chet Epperson of Rockford and Chief Nick Graf of Morton.
