Celebrity trainer Karas to speak at Genveva center

Looking to jump-start a healthier lifestyle in the new year? From 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 12, LivingWell Cancer Resource Center, 442 Williamsburg Ave. in Geneva, will host a morning of wellness, beginning with a talk by celebrity trainer Jim Karas, the best-selling author of the best-sellers, “The Business Plan for the Body,” “The Cardio-Free Diet,” “Flip The Switch,” “The 7-Day Energy Surge” and “The Petite Advantage.”

Karas has been the Fitness Contributor on ABC’s “Good Morning America” (he helped former co-host Diane Sawyer lose over 25 pounds), is frequently seen on “The Dr. Oz Show,” “The View” and for three years, hosted “Couch Potatoes” on ABC News Now. Karas has served as a contributing editor for Good Housekeeping magazine and has written feature articles for countless other national publications, including “O” The Oprah Magazine. He also continues to personally work with “People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive,” Hugh Jackman, when called into service.

The morning also will include a nutrition presentation by registered dietitian Susannah Baldock and a stress relief session with registered nurse Steve Cohen. This interactive workshop that will focus on easy ways to include physical fitness into the busiest of lifestyles, how to make small changes in your eating habits for a big impact on your health, and how to rid yourself of the negative impact stress can have on your health.
