Gunman robs Lombard hair salon

A man who displayed a handgun during a robbery Wednesday at Hair Cuttery on Roosevelt Road in Lombard got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The man, described as white or Hispanic in his 20s or 30s, entered the store about 10:45 a.m. and showed the gun, Deputy Chief Pat Rollins said. The man left on foot after being given cash and headed west from the salon at 213 E. Roosevelt Road.

No one was injured and the business remained open after the robbery, Rollins said.

Rollins said the man was wearing a black coat with jeans and a brown scarf covering his face.

Lombard police are reviewing security video from nearby businesses to try to get a more specific description of the suspect.
