Nonprofits can apply for Palatine Rotary Club foundation aid
Monies to be distributed were raised during the 2012 Oktoberfest celebration held the weekend of Sept. 14-16, in downtown Palatine.
“We had a magnificent Oktoberfest in 2012, made even more tremendous with the amount of money raised,” said Oliver Girke, chairman of the allocations committee. “It’s a great feeling to be part of an organization that can give back so much, especially when so many have had to cut back.”
Girke also noted that all applications will be considered for funding, but funding is not guaranteed.
Organizations interested in receiving a charitable allocation should submit their application no later than Jan. 21, 2013. Applications are available at the Rotary Club of Palatine’s Facebook website or through Girke at oliveregirke@aol.com or the Rotary’s website at www.PalatineRotary.com.
The official allocation distribution ceremony will be 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Falcon Park Recreation Center, 2195 N. Hicks Road, Palatine.
President Liz Noe invites interested men and women of the Palatine community to learn more about Rotary.

Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today’s most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy and violence. They also support programs for youth, including leadership and educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development.
