Yingling won’t seek supervisor spot:

Grayslake resident Sam Yingling, who in November defeated incumbent state Rep. Sandy Cole for the 62nd District, announced Tuesday he will not seek another term as Avon Township supervisor. He and a team of candidates were elected in 2009 on a platform of greater government efficiency. Yingling said the township board has reduced tax levies each year for a total of 22 percent, reduced pay to elected officials by nearly a third, generated surpluses and expanded services. Current Avon Township Clerk Lisa Rusch is running for supervisor as part of the Avon Action slate. Round Lake Beach village Trustee Judy Armstrong also has filed to run for supervisor as part of a slate of candidates.
