Belgium tap takeover
New Belgium Brewery takes over the Bavarian Lodge Friday, Dec. 14, featuring nine drafts on tap and two cask-conditioned ales. Drafts include New Belgium’s Vivant Biere De Garde, Lost Abbey Brett Bier, Alpine Super IPA, Peach Porch Lounger, Frambozen, Imperial Chocolate Coffee Stout, Ranger IPA, Snow Day and Trippel. Cast beers are the 1554 Black Ale and the Belgo IPA. Bring in two nonperishable food items to benefit the Northern Illinois Food Drive and take home a free New Belgium beer glass.

Bill’s Blues
Revisit the soul of Bill’s Blues on Wednesdays at the Hilton Orrington. From 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, catch Laura Joy, Heather Styka and Emily White. The second set starts at 8:30 p.m. and is a Bill’s Blues Jam Revisited — an all-star Chicago blues band with a revolving group of performers who sign up that night. Drink specials include $4 well drinks and $10 pitchers of Miller Lite. No cover.

IPA tasting
Get hoppy at a free tasting of Emmett’s Brewing Company’s latest beer. Starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, sample the American IPA — a full-bodied beer brewed with extra hops. All pints of Emmett’s own brews are $3 each that night.
