Break-a-Thon raises money for parents in crisis

Yong Tae Kwon Do Center’s recent Break-a-Thon raised nearly $3,000 for its Single Parents in Crisis Fund.

The center in Round Lake Beach, partnered with the village and Nicasa to establish the fund to help families in need this holiday season.

Round Lake Beach Mayor Richard Hill and Bruce Johnson, the CEO of NICASA, attended the event, which featured a show by the Black Belt Demo Team. Donations were accepted for board and brick breaking.

Anyone wishing to donate should mail a check payable to K.A.C.F. S to Yong Tae Kwon Do, 2175 Route 83, Round Lake Beach, 600073. The fund name should be noted in the memo portion of the check.

Headquartered in Round Lake, NICASA is a nonprofit behavioral health, substance abuse prevention and treatment agency. The agency will manage the fund.
