Sullivan’s Steakhouse in Lincolnshire culminated National Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a $4,500 donation for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
During October, Sullivan’s offered guests a special prix fixe Pink Menu, for which $5 from each order was donated to NBCF.
Nationwide, Sullivan’s Steakhouses combined to raise $112,000 in 2012. This year’s donation adds to a four-year national effort by Sullivan’s, which has now raised more than $500,000 to benefit breast cancer research, prevention and early detection.
The Lincolnshire location has individually contributed more than $18,400 in funds during this four-year duration.
“It’s a pleasure to be able to engage with our customers and raise funds for such a worthy cause,” said Jason Yuhasz, general manager of Sullivan’s Lincolnshire.
“We all know someone who has been affected by breast cancer, and to be able to support the important work of the NBCF is both rewarding and gratifying for our entire team.”
Founded in 1991 by breast cancer survivor Janelle Hail, the National Breast Cancer Foundation is committed to saving the lives of men and women affected by breast cancer by promoting early detection education, providing free mammograms and support services to those in need and supporting national research programs.
When breast cancer is detected early, in the localized stage, the 5-year survival rate is 98.6 percent.
“We’re so grateful to Sullivan’s for their continued support and ongoing commitment to helping those with breast cancer,” said Hail, CEO and founder of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
“Not only are they raising money, they are building awareness by educating and involving their customers.”
With 19 locations throughout the country, Sullivan’s Steakhouse takes pride in establishing strong roots in each city it calls home. Sullivan’s values being an active part of the community and an enthusiastic supporter of local charities.
Following this year’s Pink Menu, Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group and the National Breast Cancer Foundation will continue to collaborate on their joint educational partnership, designed to raise awareness about breast cancer to both employees and consumers alike.
