Eight newcomers join DuPage County Board

A revamped DuPage County Board is ready to begin its work now that eight new members have joined the panel.

New county board members Elizabeth Chaplin, Peter DiCianni, Amy L. Grant, Gary Grasso, Tonia Khouri, Sean T. Noonan, Lauren Nowak and Sam Tornatore were sworn in during a Monday night inauguration event in Wheaton.

Sitting representatives who have started new terms on the 18-member county board are John Curran, Grant Eckhoff, Paul Fichtner, James D. Healy, Brian Krajewski, Robert L. Larsen, JR McBride, Tony Michelassi, Donald Puchalski and James F. Zay.

The entire board was up for election last month because of the census. Fichtner, DiCianni, Curran, Eckhoff, Khouri and Nowak have terms in office that end in two years. The rest of the board is serving 4-year terms.

Meanwhile, countywide elected officials sworn in during Monday’s inauguration ceremony were State’s Attorney Robert Berlin, Circuit Court Clerk Chris Kachiroubas, County Auditor Bob Grogan, County Coroner Richard Jorgensen, County Recorder Fred Bucholz and Circuit Court Judge Patrick J. O’Shea.
