Tentative contract deal for District 50 teachers

Woodland Elementary District 50 in Gurnee and the union representing its teachers reached tentative agreement on a new contract early Thursday.

District 50 announced that the contract agreement came about 2:30 a.m. during a bargaining session with the Woodland Council of the Lake County Federation of Teachers.

Officials said details, such as compensation and contract length, could not be immediately released.

Teachers union members and the District 50 board will need to ratify the agreement. The Woodland school board’s next meeting is Thursday, Dec. 6.
