CLC has ideas for holiday giving

Unique holiday gift ideas for art lovers will abound at the College of Lake County’s 22nd Annual Holiday Art Sale, which will be held from Dec. 1-4. The juried sale will feature original art by over 40 different Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin artists, including handmade jewelry, wearable art, decorative and functional ceramics, wood and metal sculpture, fused and blown glass, mosaics, soaps and candles.

The Holiday Art Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1; from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2; from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday Dec. 3, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4. The sale will be in the atrium outside the Robert T. Wright Community Gallery of Art in the Library/Learning Resource Center at CLC’s Grayslake campus, 19351 W. Washington St. Parking is available in lots two through six, and visitors should enter through the C Wing.

The Holiday Art Sale is sponsored by the CLC Foundation and a portion of the proceeds help fund student scholarships. Members of the Friends of the Gallery will receive 10 percent off any item purchased at the Holiday Art Sale.

Another opportunity for holiday shopping will be at the ARTcetera Winter Sale from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 11-12. All art gifts will be10 percent off, with 20 percent off for member of Friends of the Gallery. ARTcetera, The Gallery Shop, is located in the Robert T. Wright Community Art Gallery inside the Library/Learning Resource Center at CLC’s Grayslake campus.

Three drop-off boxes are available until Dec. 14 at the CLC Grayslake campus, where students and community members can donate new, unwrapped toys, which will be distributed to needy children in the community.
