Fire damages house in Glen Ellyn

A fire at a single-family home in Glen Ellyn that began in a bedroom caused significant damage Friday, authorities said.

Emergency crews who responded to the home on the 100 block of Park Boulevard at 4:48 p.m. found it full of smoke and discovered the origin of the fire in one of the bedrooms, according to a news release from the Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Company.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and then worked to clear the house of smoke, officials said.

The residents of the house were able to evacuate the home safely. There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
