Fox Valley Libertarian Party to host ‘Busted’ screening
The Fox Valley Libertarian Party is presenting the film, “Busted,” educating Americans on how to defend their rights if confronted with a law enforcement official. It is produced by the Americans for Civil Liberties Union.
“‘Busted’ aims to educate people on how to react when confronted with a very difficult situation such as being arrested. The information is invaluable in showing how individuals have the ability to assert their Constitutional rights by not inadvertently waiving them,” states Julie Fox, chairwoman of the Fox Valley Libertarian Party.
“Busted” is open to the public and is free of charge. It will be presented Saturday, Nov. 17, on the second floor of Diamond Jim’s Gas Grill, 325 Meier St., East Dundee. A discussion of the film will follow its presentation. Doors open at 3 p.m. The film runs from 3:30 to 5 p.m. The discussion period finishes at 5:30 p.m.
The event is sponsored by the Fox Valley Libertarian Party, a chapter of the Libertarian Party of Illinois. The Libertarian Party recognizes the rights of free markets, individual liberty and requisite personal responsibility, and a noninterventionist foreign policy that may be summed up with the phrase, “Live and let live.” The party engages in local activities to promote the aforementioned goals through education, activism and running candidates for local office. It doesn’t offer legal advice. It is sponsoring the film for educational purposes. Visit fvlp.org.
