Man has to be extricated from Elk Grove Village crash
Elk Grove fire officials said a man had to be cut out of the backseat of a car after a three-vehicle crash on northbound 290 south of Devon Avenue.
The crash, fire officials said, happened at 7 p.m. Thursday. A woman, fire officials said, was driving northbound and swiped a car in another lane. She then swerved into the path of a semi-truck, went underneath the truck and then drove head-on into a median.
Three patients were transported with minor injuries to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, firefighters said. The woman whose car hit the median was able to get out under her own power, firefighters said. A man who was a passenger in the back seat of her car was extricated by firefighters.
Illinois State Police said that three northbound lanes were blocked while an investigation was conducted.
