Marmion to hold Veterans Day ceremony

Marmion Academy in Aurora will hold its annual Veterans Day Observance Ceremony at 3:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, in the Alumni Hall gymnasium at 1000 Butterfield Road.

The Marmion JROTC Cadet Corps will honor all veterans and especially deceased alumni veterans of war during the after school formation and parade. The public is welcome to attend.

The guest of honor at this year’s ceremony is Fr. Paul Weberg, OSB. Weberg is a monk at Marmion Abbey and a theology teacher at Marmion Academy.

In addition to his roles at Marmion, Father Paul serves as a military chaplain in the Illinois Army National Guard and has been deployed to Iraq, Italy and Botswana, as well as to many locations within the United States.
