Vet Fest in Palatine Saturday

Vet Fest ‘12, a fundraiser for local hospitalized veterans, will take place starting at noon Saturday, Nov. 10 at Splinters Sports Pub, 2070 N. Rand Road, in Palatine.

It’s the eighth annual festival, and includes a barbecue, raffles, and both live and silent auctions. Last year, it raised $19,000 for toiletries and clothes for veterans at the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago.
