Lombard Fire responds to early morning house fire, no injuries reported
LOMBARD, Illinois—The Lombard Fire Department responded to an early morning fire at 532 S. Lombard Sunday morning. The fire started in the kitchen. No injuries were reported.
At approximately 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Lombard responded to a report of smoke in the building at the above address. “Upon arrival, we discovered fire in an exterior kitchen wall,” stated Battalion Chief Ray Kickert. The fire was then upgraded to a general alarm
Residents of the home reported that their smoke detectors alerted them that the house was filled with smoke. Everyone was able to leave the house safely. Damages are estimated at between $30,000 and $40,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Lombard was assisted by neighboring fire departments Elmhurst, Oak Brook Villa Park and York Center.
