Submitted by Gibby’s Wine Den

Gibby’s Wine Den, 1772 S. Randall Road, Suite 220, Geneva, will hold a wine tasting and gallery opening Friday, Nov. 2. View the paintings of local artist Valerie Lorimer, which includes mixed media pieces.

The “Art by the Glass — A Creative Pairing” artist’s reception will be from 5 to 8 p.m. The wine tasting will feature wines from South America. There also will be live music by local performer Hallie Gaitsch from 6 to 8 p.m.

No reservations are required. In accordance with the Illinois Liquor Commission and the Geneva Police Department, you are able to sample all six wines in the purchased sample packages for $5. Tickets will be provided.

Gibby’s Wine Den continues to support artists and art lovers in the community. They welcome local artists to display their works in their gallery for sale and enjoyment. Each month Gibby’s features a different artist. Typically, there are from 10 to 30 pieces on their gallery wall available for purchase.

“We want to help to support local artists by highlighting their work in our gallery,” states Mary McHugh, Art by the Glass program coordinator. “All artwork is for sale, and many artists take commissions for a more personalized piece.”

More information about the program is available at www.gibbys-wine.com, including information about each artist and their work.

The first Friday of each month is the gallery opening and artist’s reception for the exhibit, unless otherwise noted. The artist is on-site and available for questions and discussion regarding the pieces. There are no reservations required for this event and no cover fee.
