Geneva restaurant to host costume ball, pet parade

On Halloween weekend, Niche restaurant in Geneva will host a festive pet parade and costume contest, as well as an adult costume ball in honor of our pets.

Starting at noon Saturday, Oct. 27, Niche will host its first Pet Parade and Costume Contest. From best dressed to scariest to sweetest, pets can be entered in the parade and costume contest for $15, with all proceeds going directly to support the Anderson Animal Shelter in South Elgin.

Dogs of all shapes and sizes are encouraged to enter and strut around in their costume of choice. Once all pets are decked out in their costume, there will be a parade to showcase the different looks followed by a costume contest with prizes and bragging rights.

Geneva Mayor Kevin R. Burns will serve as a judge and animals will also be available for adoption. To enter a pet in the contest, owners can visit www.nichegeneva.com/petparade.

The fun continues Sunday, Oct. 28. Starting at 3 p.m., Niche will hold an adult Halloween costume ball. All guests are welcome and encouraged to come dressed in their costumes to celebrate the Halloween season.

Priced at $20 per person, the event includes a variety of Chef Perdue’s Halloween-inspired appetizers and proceeds will be donated to the Anderson Animal Shelter. Guests can call Niche at (630) 262-1000 to make a reservation.
