Stroke screening Friday in Hoffman Estates
Did you know that stroke is a leading cause of death, four out of five strokes lead to permanent disability and 80 percent of strokes are preventable? On Friday, Oct. 19, Life Line Screening will be at the Hoffman Estates Village Hall, 1900 Hassell Road, conducting stroke assessments for the community. Using ultrasound technology to check for plaque buildup in arteries (the leading cause of stroke), the procedure is quick and painless. Registration is required; call (800) 324-1851.
