Palatine food drive returns for ninth year

As they have every year since 2004, the attorneys and staff of Palatine's Lavelle Law, Ltd. are ready to initiate their month long effort to restock the shelves of the Palatine Township Food Pantry with their community wide Palatine Food Drive. The 9th annual edition begins October 15th and will conclude with the delivery of all donations to the Food Pantry on November 20th.

“With an early Thanksgiving this year we will start the Palatine Food Drive in mid-October to allow everyone the opportunity to continue the generosity they have exhibited in past years,” said Food Drive Coordinator Heather Slipkevych. “Year after year the local residents and businesses make a lasting impression on so many lives through their donations to the Palatine Food Drive.” Lavelle Law, Ltd. has received numerous commendations and awards for their charitable efforts, including multiple acknowledgments for their efforts in addressing the growing concern of hunger in the suburban area through their annual food drive.

“We are pleased to welcome back many of our most valued sponsors and participants again this year,” said Slipkevych. ”We have seventeen locations throughout Palatine where donations of non-perishable food and items like diapers and formula can be dropped off. Between the time period and the number of locations, we hope that everyone will find it convenient to participate this year as so many have in the past.”

Members of the Lavelle Law staff and other volunteers will collect items throughout the drive and at its conclusion on the 20th. Residents are encouraged to make their donations at any of the following Palatine locations: Buehler YMCA, 1400 West Northwest Highway, ACE Hardware, 239 East Northwest Highway, Palatine Bank and Trust, 110 West Palatine Road, Palatine Opportunity Center, 1585 Rand Road, Birchwood Recreation Center, 435 West Illinois Avenue, Palatine Park District, 250 East Wood Street, Palatine Village Hall, 200 East Wood Street, UPS Store, 738 East Dundee Road, Falcon Park Recreation Center, 2195 North Hicks Road, Golf Nation, 399 North Quentin Road, the Palatine Police Department, 200 East Wood Street, Harris Bank, 50 North Brockway, The Christian Shop, 325 East Dundee, Preventative Healthcare, 454 East Dundee, Countryside, 21154 W.
