Arlington Food Drive continues through Nov. 20

With the holiday season approaching, the staff and attorneys of Lavelle Law, Ltd are gearing up for the third annual Arlington Food Drive.

The event runs concurrent with the firm's highly successful Palatine Food Drive that began in 2004. All donations of non-perishable food, diapers, formula, and other donations will be delivered to the Wheeling Township Food Pantry on Nov. 20.

“With an early Thanksgiving this year we will start the Arlington Food Drive in mid-October to allow everyone the opportunity to continue the generosity they have exhibited in past years,” said Food Drive Coordinator Heather Slipkevych. “For the past two years the local residents and businesses make a lasting impression on so many lives through their donations to this Food Drive.” The drive is overseen by the law firm's philanthropic group, Lavelle Law Charities. The firm has received numerous commendations and awards for their charitable efforts, including multiple acknowledgments for their efforts in addressing the growing concern of hunger in the suburban area through their annual food drives.

“We are pleased to welcome back many of our most valued sponsors and participants again this year,” said Slipkevych. ”We have nine locations throughout Arlington Heights where donations can be dropped off. Between the time period and the number of locations, we hope that everyone will find it convenient to participate this year as so many have in the past.” Slipkevych noted that most Arlington Heights Park District facilities will have donation boxes making sites available in most neighborhoods throughout the community.

Among the locations are: The Peoples' Bank of Arlington Heights, 41 S. Vail and 1104 S. Arlington Heights Road, along with many Arlington Heights Park District locations including Heritage Park, 506 W. Victoria, Camelot Park, 1005 E. Suffield, Frontier Park, 1933 N. Kennicott, Recreation Park Center, 500 E. Miner, Pioneer Park, 500 S. Fernandez, Olympic Indoor Swim Center, 660 N. Ridge, and the Park District Administration Center, 410 N. Arlington Heights Road.

All materials collected during the Arlington Food Drive are delivered by the Lavelle staff and other volunteers to the Wheeling Township Food Panty. The organization relies on donations from local food drives and the Lavelle Law Charities Arlington Food Drive has been a contributor since 2010.
