Services set for teen killed in weekend shooting
ROYALTON, Ill. — Services will be held Wednesday for a southern Illinois teen who authorities say died after she was accidentally shot at a relative's house.
Franklin County investigators say 14-year-old Ashley Jackson of Royalton was pronounced dead Saturday at a Herrin hospital, shortly after the shooting at a rural home.
There's no immediate word on any charges.
Her obituary says she was a freshman at Zeigler-Royalton High School, where she was active in volleyball, softball and track. She also enjoyed riding horses and four-wheelers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Royalton Church of the Nazarene.
