Maine West’s Kukec, Mustari make it downstate

The boys golf season isn’t over year for Maine West’s Tom Kukec and Justin Mustari.

The Warriors seniors were the top two individual state qualifiers from Monday’s Glenbrook South sectional at Winnetka Golf Club.

Both shot 79 to earn a spot in this weekend’s state tournament.

The overall medalist was New Trier sophomore Jack Junge (73).

Glenbrook North also got a 73, from junior Jack Hardy, to win the team competition with a 302. New Trier was second at 306, and Loyola (308) earned the final state team berth.
