Lake Zurich fire open house:

The Lake Zurich Fire and Rescue Department hosts its annual Fire Prevention week open house on Sunday, Oct. 7 at Station 1, 321 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The day includes several events and demonstrations, such as the kids firefighters challenge, stop, drop and roll, the fire safety trailer and a puppet show. There will also be antique fire truck rides, a visit from “Sparky the Fire Dog” and search and rescue dogs.
