4th Annual Palatine Bowl to Raise Funds for Shelter, Inc

Despite a winless record to date, the staff and attorneys of Lavelle Law, Ltd will join together with other area business leaders to take on the Palatine Police and Fire Departments in the 4th Annual Palatine Bowl Charity Flag Football Game. The annual fundraiser will kick-off at noon on October 7th at Ost Field. The proceeds from sponsorships, food sales, and raffle ticket sales will this year benefit Shelter, Inc., a local organization dedicated to providing support services to abused and neglected children.

“While the scores have never been in our favor, the end result has been positive for everyone involved,” said Lavelle Law Partner and Shelter, Inc. Board Member, Cameron Monti who originated the event in 2009. Over the years, the game has raised funds for Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA), the family of fallen U.S. Marine Corporal Christopher J. “C.J.” Boyd, and Women in Need Growing Stronger (WINGS). “We are very pleased to partner with Shelter, Inc. this year and provide some additional funding to support the outstanding work they do in providing foster care, emergency and longer term group home services for kids of all ages.”

As in the past, the flag football game will pit members of the Police and Fire Departments against local business people led by the Lavelle Law personnel. Lavelle Law Charities operate numerous initiatives in the Northwest suburbs including the Palatine and Arlington Heights Food Drives each Holiday season. The firm which currently features fourteen attorneys is a frequent sponsor of events in local communities, townships, park districts, and schools. The firm has received numerous awards and commendations for their charitable and service efforts.

“We really strive to make the Palatine Bowl a fun family event with games, food, police and fire displays for kids and much more,” said event coordinator Heather Slipkevych. “We'd look forward to bringing community members together and raising some funds for this critical community organization.” Shelter, Inc. has been providing 24-hour emergency help to abused and neglected children and teens, along with long-term counseling and support services since 1975. “Shelter, Inc. has done so much for kids in need over the years. We'd like to do our small part to help them out by providing the proceeds from the event this year.”
