Alpine Runners hold 34th annual races in Lake Zurich

The Alpine Runners will hold the 34th Annual Alpine Races at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, at Paulus Park, 200 S. Rand Road, Lake Zurich. Runners may chose from the half-marathon, 5K, youth mile or kids races.

The half-marathon and 5K courses are USATF certified. The races run through the streets and along the shores of Lake Zurich.

Gatorade, water, and time splits will be available along the course. Food and drinks will be available to participants at the finish line.

No dogs, strollers, bikes, in-line skates or headphones are allowed in the races. Alpine Races/Runners will not issue refunds for registration made online, by mail, or on race weekend.

Participants in the half-marathon and 5K will receive an official hooded sweatshirt (for the first 500 registered runners) available in adult sizes of S, M, L, XL and XXL. Half marathon finishers receive a medal. Youth mile and kiddie race participants will receive a T-shirt in sizes Youth S, Youth M and Youth L. All will receive an official race packet, goody bag, snacks, and beverages. The post race light breakfast is donated by Good Shepherd Hospital.
